LABOUR PAKTI' CONFERENCE.
FOR IRISH SETTLEMENT.
LONDON, December 115.
The National Executive of the Labour Party is calling a special party conference on the 29th inst. to inaugurate a national campaign with a view to Irish peace and a permanent settlement on the lines formulated by the Labour Party report, which the Commission of Inquiry in Ireland will present.
BISHOP COLAHAN'S DECREE,
ENGLISH PRESS COMMENT. . LONDON, December 15. A Dublin correspondent states that Bishop Colahan's decree threatening to excommunicate all taking part Jn . ambushes, kidnapping, and murder has startled tho "country. The great im-, portance of the issue is recognised, and it is expected that the Catholic beirarchy will recognise the necessity for a clear definition of its attitude of spiritual and political morality towards the Republicans, which cannot fail to effect profoundly the whole eh aracter of the situation.
