CHRISTCHURCH, December 16. The New Brighton Trotting Club's Summer Meeting opened to-day in fine but windy weather. There was a large attendance, and £36,039* passed through the totalisator, as compared with £32,008* last year. Results:— First Amateur Handicap. — Rankin (D.. Annett) 1, Renown 2 Electioneer Child 3.
