ANOTHER MOTOR FATALITY. OLD MAN THE VICTIM. (£Vr Tress Assoeialion). CHHISTCHI'RCH, May 2. David Henderson Browu, aged S3. years, was knocked down by a motorcar last night and died in the hospital early this 'morning. At the inquest j the evidence of t)w C.r'.yev of The car, 0. Barrett, and the occupants thereof, went to show tlmt deceased was oncountered' svuldouly in the middle of the road, and though, every thing possible was done to avoid him, one- of the headlights struck him and threw him on the bonnet of the ear, from which he it'll on the- road. The car was travelling at from 12 to 15 miles per Hour. The ino.uest was adjourned to enable a po.-t mortem lo be held. i MYSTERIOUS RAILWAY FATALITY WHY DID MAN ME ON LINE? WELLINGTON. May * An inquest was held to-day ou Donald Reunil, who was run over uy « railway engine. There was no evidence showing how dceased came to be lying on the line. There were no signs of liquor on deceased, who was conscious jjfter the nccideat t and able to . give his name to the engine driver. The coroner who said it was mysterious that a man who was both sober a>'id conscious should be - lying across the railway line, returned an open verdict. He added that no blame was 1 attachable to the engine driver. ANOTHER SUICIDE. CHRISTCHURCH, May 2 The body of Frank Earnest Goodman, who disappeared on April 9th, was found yesterday at New Brighton beach. It was much decomposed. Deceased met with an accident nine years ago and was injured by a tram. J'he coroner returned n verdict of sitieide while of unsound state of mind.
