MINISTER'S STATEMENT DENIED.
ABOUT MEASLES IN AUCKLAND,
AUCKLAND, December 7
A denial is made of the statement by Hon. G. W. Russell to the effect that measles are prevalent in Mount Albert. The Mayor of Mt. Albert states that a fortnight ago there were several mild eases among the pupils at the school, but the trouble had now ! passed. He could confidently say that I there are not now a dozen cases iv the whole borough. ; The Health authorities 'state that, since measles were made a not ili en ble disease, at the end of lust week only seven cases have been reported, two in the city, one at Mount Albert, three at Otahuhu, and one at Birkenhead.
