MRS G. J. ROBERTS (Hokitika)

Very many friends aU over the Coast will be sincerely sorry .to learn ot the death at Hokitika yesterday trom the pra vailing epidemic, oi one of Muki'tiKifh best Known and most esteemed residents, in the person of Mrs G. "J. Roberts, widow of the late G. J. Roberts, (one of the ablest and probably the best locally experiences of the surveyor's who have held the office of Crown Lands Commissioner ot Westland). The late Mrs Roberts had been an indefatigable worker in the epidemic campaign, and it was while giving assistance to others that she contracted the disease as the result of which she was taken to the Westland Hospital, where she died. She had resided for very many years in the southern town, and by her amiable kindly nature had won the esteem of everyone. She was a member of the well known Stracha n family, ot Wanganui, and they will have the sincere sympathy of very many Tn their bereavement.
