NO. 2 (FARMERS') QUEEN.
The Daffodil Show in connection with the Farmers' Queen was brought to a close yesterday when there was again a good attendance. Most of the flowers commanded ready sale at good prices, and good business was done. In the evening thn coronation of the Copper King took place, and proved a pietty little spectacle. The King, Master Pryce Hamer, arrived at the Hall at 8.30 o'clock, and was met by his Court, at the door and escorted to the stage for his enthronement. All his Court, were dressed for the occasion the boys in Fauntelroy suits and the girls as Court ladies, the whole effect being pretty and the ceremony dignified. After the crowning ,the King entertained his Court, at supper. The lamb given by Mr. Tom Lea was won by Mr. F. J. P. Parkinson.- The cake given by Mr. P. Blanchfield was won by Mrs Bush, who guessed the weight, 191bs. 30z., the correct weight being 191bs. soz. The committee acknowledge with thanks the sum of £3 5s from the Bridge Club, per Mrs. Revington. They also sincerely thank all those who helped in the show, workers, exhibitors and contributors, and also the Copper King Candidates ahd their friends, for the substantial assistance they rendered. • .
