The only business before the District Committee last evening was the passing of the Murchison programme ior Boxing Day, wh.ch shows a slight increase in stakes, . and the granting of a Jockey's license to J. Kelly, Kumara. * The newly appointed Committee of the Greymouth Jockey Club met after the District Committee. Present: Mr. M. Hannan (chair), Messrs J. Walton, T. E. Coates, W. H. Parfitt, K. Williams, R. S. Latta, and H. D. James. *." Correspondence was received from the Racing Conference on various subiects. The matter of renewing certain debentures which had expired was left, in the hands of the. Treasurer, chairman, and Secretary to deal with. Banking arrangements as submitted were attended to. <i ELECTION OF OFFICERS.
The election of officers for the "ensuing year was then proceeded with, resulting as follows: President: Mr. m. Hannan, Stewards: Messrs T. Ji.. Coat'es, H. J. Bignell, J. Walton, X Blair, M. Hannan, W. H. Parfitt and W. R. Kettle. Judicial Committee: — Messrs M. Hannan, J. Walton, A. -bln.r. H. J. Bignell and T. E. Coates, Judee: Mr. E. J. Smith. Clerk of the Course, Mr. E. Ashton ;$ Clerk of Scales: Mr. Kirn Williams.. Handicapper Mr. Jas. Noble; Hon. Timekeeper: Mr. H. W. Kitchingham., Hon. Treasurer Mr. AY. R. Kettle. Programme Committee: Messrs J. Walton, H. J. Bignell, J. Wingham, R. S. Latta and M. Hannan; Course Committee: Messrs J. Walton, M. Hannan, A. Beban, T. E. Coates, and H. J. Bignell. This concluded the business.
