REEFTON. February A meeting of the councillors of tlie ! Reefton School of Mines was held on I Friday evening. Present. W. F. Brett (president), W.. Auld. W. J. Morris. J. Patterson, A. Watson. G. Buchanan |and N. Lawn, and the director, Mr. T. Williamson. Apolog-ies were receiv ed from Messrs. A. Perotti, R. Burley- and F. H. Lee. I Correspondence- was received from the Under-Secretarv advising subsidy remitted on assay and tuition fees, also the director's salary. •'■■■• Accounts, were "read and passed for payment. The director's report was read' and received. The director also askeci to be relieved of his duties, as he had enlisted and was going into camp ,as a non-commissioned officer on the Bth March. . ! Mr. N. Lawn moved and Mr. Brett seconded that the resignation of Mr J. Williamson, director of the Reefton bchool of Mines, be accepted with regret ; at the same time congratulating him on the excellent results obtained by Ins energy and the high standard 1 w J* at had distinguished the school. The remarks of appreciation were endorsed by all the councillors and. it was resolved that a testimonial be presented to Mr. J. Williamson. It was decided that applications be called for the position of director and that applications close on February 14
