A wireless message from Captain Davis reacts as' follows: "The Aurora arrived at Cape Evans, all well, 011 January 10th_ and relieved the seven surviving members' of the Shackle lon Expedition, namely: Stevens, Joyce, Cope, Wild, Richards, Gage and Jack, who were found Jo be all well. 1 regrot to report that during the second year of the expedition A. P. Spencer Smith died of scurvy on the Barrier, on March IMh, 191(5. Captain Mackintosh ami V. G. Hay ward perished on May Sth, ll)l(j, being" overtaken by a blizzard which broke up the sea ice over which they were attempting to cross from Hut Point to Cape Evans. "The Aurora left McMurclo Sound on January 19th. and should arrive in Wellington a liout February I.oth. "The next of kin are: Smith, -his mother, 51, Palace' Street, "Westminster, London; 'Mackintosh,, his wife, Ethel Indens, Bedxprd,, England; Hay-wdi-d, his mother.
