" Richard Currie, aged 80" years, died • yesterday morning from heart disease, after, a short illness, at the residence of his son-in-law, Mr. Hugh Gihner, of Raupo, Grey Valley, The deceased came to the West Coast over 30 years ago, and took over the sawmill business at Ahaura, formerly run by the late John -Reid, and subsequently was engaged in farming in the same locality until about six years ago. He leaves two sons — Robert and Peter (Opotiki_ North Island)— and two daughters — Mesdames H. Gilmer (Rauvo) and Elder (Otira) — to mourn their Joss. ; Wo regret having to record the death of a very old resident of the district in the person of Mr. Richard Boddy, of Boddytown, which took place at the Grey River Hospital. The deceased, a native of Lincolnshire, England, and 72 years of age, had been in failing health for some 'time, and his end was not unexpected. . Together with his wife and • -family, he was the pioneer of the district named after him. Some few months back, it will be remembered, Mr. and Mrs. Boddy celebrated their golden wedding and at the festive board the family were largely represented in three generations. The deceased was a man highly esteemed, of a genial nature, straightforward and upright in all 'dealings and his many friends will reifret to hear of his passing. He leaves a widow, four sons, and five daughters to mourn their loss. Three sons, Messrs Arthur.. Rubin and Ernest, are residents of Boddytown, whilst Charles is a resident of Wellington. Mesclames Whiteside, T. Hazeldine (Greymouth), Lewis (Timaru), RouSe (Te Kinga) and F. Brown (Westport) are daughters of the deceased. The late Mr. Boddy was for forty years a member of Lodge A.O.F.
