The Grey County Council notified the Board of the appointment of Mr. J. P. Irvine as representative on the Board, vice R. Lark-in, deceased. The Chairman welcomed Mr. Irvine as a member of the Board, who took the seat of the late R. Larkin. He thought- the Grey Valley people were fi.rtunate in having a representative like Mr. Irvine to represent them. , Mr. Irvine suitably responded, and said he hoped there would be nothing wanting on his part to uphold the dignity of the position. From Hannah Becknian # applying for admission of her son to a sanatorium. Mr. Williams said the case should get attention as it was not right for such cases to be walking about. The Inspector stated that he could put 30 cases in the hospital to-morrow if they had accomrnodaion. It was resolved that the lad report himself to Dr. Usher, and that there was no chance of getting him into the sanatorium at present. The Hospital Boards wrote regarding maintenance charges. — Received. From the District Health Officer, notifying that the Maheno has on - board four West Coast cases. Mr. Perkins moved that notice of - a remit be forwarded from the Board regarding the question of tuberculosis and its spread in the Dominion, and the matter of dealing with the disease in the future. • This was seconded by the Chairman and carried. MEDICAL SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT. , Dr. Usher 's report for the month, ending November 30th, is as follows: Number of patients remaining last month, 67 males. .14 females; number died, 3 males and 2 females;., discharged, 22 males and 8 females* admitted, 25 males and 10 females; remaining at end of month. 63 males and 16 females; ages of deaths, 84, 76, 74, 70. and 46 years. TREASURER'S REPORT. The Treasurer reported that £619 J4s 9d was the amount received since last meeting.
