OBITUARY.

MRS JEFFRIES, AETAT 67 Last evening Mr. W. J. Jeffries principal of the firm .of Messrs Sprbt Jeffries and Co., received the sad news of his mother's, death, which occurred suddenly at: her private residence, Majoribanks Street, Wellington, Wednes day afternoQn. ; ' The late Mrs. Jeffries 's death caused the family a p'ainfui shock as her end came, so unexpectedly. : The good lady was in her. usual health until yesterday, when she was overtaken by la paralytic stroke, shortly;* after midday. Some hours later a second seizure occurred;- and the deceased passed away about four oclock. „ . The*late Mrs. Jeffries visted her son, Mr. W. J. .. Jeffries, a inoniths ago and though well up in years, was- in comparatively good health. The news of her-de-mise, will be regretted by hosts of friends in the district.
