BALLINGER BUCKLES. WIN FOR HOKITIKA. Four rinks rep esenting the Hokitika Bowling: Club journeyed to Greymouth on Saturday last to try conclusions with the local' club for the much-coveted Ballinger Buckles. On their arrival at Elmer Lane Station they were met by the president, Mr. W. E. Reynolds, and escorted to the green. After exchanging- hearty cheers for both clubs play commenced. The afternoon was not, from a bowler's point of view, a very good one sas5 as it was very cold, and, owihft to the rain in the early morning, the green was very heavy, which inilitatliant play.. Reynolds congratulated the Hokitika Club on winning the Buckles by six points, and, in doing so, handed them to Mr. Nalder, whose rink scored the most points. He felt sure that the game, notwithstanding the cold afternoon, had been enjoyed, and said the Hokitika Club could look forward to receiving another visit from the Greymouth.
