WELLINGTON, December 28.The Maunganui, with returned sick and wounded soldiers, arrived from the. South Island this morning. Thr New Plymouth and Wanganiii men were sent home by -the 8.10 a.m. express and' the Napier and Palmerston North men and those for intermediate stations by the q-io express, their nex^-of-kin accompanying them. The Auckland contingent return home by •he i.io express this afternoon. A public- receptipn was given to the Wellington and Auckland men. i
