. MELBOURNE, December 2S. • The opinion of the ..Federal Director of Quarantine is that* the opening of the. Panama Canal has exposed Australia to the danger of yellow fever. He proposed to establish an Australian sanitary officer at Panama ; also that Australia and New Zealand combine in stationing an officer at Samoa or Tahiti to examine incoming vessels.
