WESTLAND'S CONGRATULATIONS
GENERAL GODLEY'S REPLY,
HOKITIKA, June 11
Recently the Westland County Council sent an appreciative message through the Defence Office to General Sir Alexander Godley, recognising the splendid work done by the Australasians at the Dardanelles.
The folowing reply has been received, by Mi-. Clifton, Chairman of the Westland County Council: — "On behalf of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force and the Westland men in particular, I thank you for your kind cable. v The gallantry of the New Zealanders has been unsurpassed. Godley." (Tenedos, June 8 th.)
