THE NEW LEAGUE GAME

(To tl:e Editoj.)

Sir. — I wish it to be made known to footballers and supporters that it is not the intention of the West Coast League Union to pay its players, or run the matches on professional lines as given out by opponents of the game The new Union is being formed with the sole idea of altering the style of Rugby play only, and making the game more fast and open, an acceptable to spectators and players. Wl.v •should the members of the West Coast Rugby Union be so hurt over the matter? Have they not had- the chance and time to improve the game here in past years? I maintain that t).> time has come when the public and football lovers demand a change in style of play and the new League are are to be commended in endeavouring to introduce the same to the West Coast public. — I am etc. A. PROBABLE LEAGUE PLAYER.
