OPERATIONS IN GALICIA. (By Electric Telegraph —Copyright.) (Per United Press Association.) LONDON, December 29. Petrograd reports that the Russian investment of Cracow has again been raised, following the discovery that the Austrians had attempted to divide the Russians in Galicia. "The Russians retreated eastwards fifty miles. Despatches from. Galicia state that the Russians crossed the Bailo River and seized the country southward of Tarnow, thereby sepai'ating two Austrian armies. It is anticipated that the freezing of the soft ground will, prove an advantage to the Russians, and precipitate decisive operations.
