GERMAN ATTACKS REPELLED
AUSTRIANS IN FULL RETREAT

Official. — There were isolated German attacks between the Lower Via. tula and Pilitza.
An abortive attack in the south-west of Skierniwice resulted in grave German losses.
The Austrians evacuated the left bank of the Nida and were drivea out of Szitaiki after .an obstinate defence.
Fig-hting- in the Opatovee-Biecz line continues in favour of the Russiass, who captured from the 18th to the 26th 200 officers and 15,000 men and 40 machine guris.
The enemy's, retreat at Dukla Pass is now precipitate and' disorderly. Five thousand prisoners were taken on the 26th.
The enemy's attempts to transport troops rom Czenstochowa to the Carpathians were completely frustrated.
