IN THE FAR EAST
GERMAN NIGHT ATTACK. REPULSED BY JAPANESE. Received 5.5 p.m. TOKIO, Oct. 5. It is officialy stated that a night attack on Tsingtau failed. Forty-seven Germans were killed and five Japanese killed and eight wounded. The Japanese heavy guns hit the Iltiz, which retired.
