(Pe r United Press Association.)
DUNEDIN Oct. 5. Serious trouble is threatened in connection- with St. Paul's Church, as a result of which the building of the new cathedral is likely to be seriously delayed.
Not only has the Cathedral Chapter passed a strongly worded resolution (forwarded by the Press Association) but the St. Paul's Ladies Guild have resigned en bloc to emphasise their entire concurrence with the late Yen. Archdeacon Gould's action on parish matters generally, in his differences with the Primate, which culminated in his being called on to resign his charge shrortly before his death.
At a meeting of the St. Paul's Cathedral sub-Chapter, it was resolved that a paragraph be inserted in the Press that the sub-Chapter, after reading correspondence between the Primate and the late Archdeacon Gould, has unanimously resolved to resign as a protest against the unwarranted call of the Primatf 4 to Archdeacon Gould to resign the off'ce he adorned and re.so3.ved not to accept any position in, or undertake anywork whatsoever for the Cathedral, so lon gas the present Bishop ,and Dean remain in their present respective
positions
