CELEBRATIONS CONTINUED

In the afternoon the pioneers were entertained at a garden party, 'and the function passed off very enjoyablv.

A musical programmo. was arranged, and the veterans provided an interesting, open air concert, whilst local vocalists also assisted. '

The vice-Regal party visited Ross, and were entertained at luncheon by the Borough Council there. .

An address of welcomcwas presented to His Excellency.

A visit of inspection was afterwards made to the Mont D' Or sold mininjr sluicing company's, claim, and "_the party witnessed the washing up process.

His Excellency was- precnted with an ounce of gold from the return,

The Hon. W. Eraser received a num ber of deputations in .the morning in regard to local requirements, and left for the north in the afternoon.
