RUNAWAY WAGGONS

A* sensational Tailway accident j though .one that luckily .did not involve . any ..Joss .of life, .occurred . in '.Scotland to-day, when an ...early morn ing train on . the Caledonian Co.' s line from: Edinburgh to Glasgow had a wonderful escape from a big smash Seventeen waggons loaded with road metal .were standing' at West CaAder, when -they suddenly broke away and went tearing along until they dashed ito a 'signrJ-cnbin. .The ' waggons were ".all -more or less wrecked, and as a result of the smash the : maih line became fouled. The guard, -knowing that a passenger train' was about due, ran along the me ■ to' : warn 'the appraching train, but the driver was -un'able -ito pull -up in^' time, and - the train crashed into the -wreckage of the waggons.'
