WEST COAST RUGBY UNION
WEEKLY MEETING
The weekly meeting of the above Union's executive was held last night there being present: Messrs. J. F. Wilson (chair), C. Nissen,. J. B. Ikffernan, W. Brimble. W. Dittman, W. Godfrey, W. . Flynn. D. McKay, A. J. Fraser. Tho •eutward correspondence was read and aprpoved of. The appointment of a delegate to represent this Union at the New eZaland Union's annual meeting was deferred till next meeting. CORRESPONDENCE. From New Zealand Rugby Union asking to, be provided with sticen-.ent of the expenditure of \u>t vcar's s c?on! grant by 30th inst.. Referred to school's competition ..ommittee. From New Zealand Rugby Union re amendment to rules. — Received. From United Football Club withdrawing their fourth grade team, from tne competition. — Received. •From A. W. Jones, Ahaura, applying- for rule book. Left to Mr. Jrascr to deal with. . From Star Football Club applying for reinstatement of P. Smith as a junior. — Agreed to. A deputation from the 'West Coast 1 Hockey Association waited on' the meeting requesting a reduction in the Association's portion of the ground rent for Victoria Park. The Chairman ponted out to the deputaton that the Union had no voice in assesisng the ground rent, the matter- being one ■entirely for the Txottinfz Club. The deputation "then suggested that two members of the Union along witn two members of the Hockey Association should wait on the Trcu* ng Club in reference to the question. Ihe s>ugrjrestion was agreed to and Messrs. Wilson and Nissen were appointed to act as the Union's ljepresentatives. GENERAL; Th« Ground Inspection Committee reported that they had visited the Brunner and Blackball grounds and suggested certain' improvements. It ; was decided to write the d'/os concerned in accordance with xne committee's suggestions. It was resolved that the secretary and one representative from each club meet at the Albion Hotel for t'_.e purpose of re-arranging tnc junior"; pie-' sident and fourth grade fixtures. . Resolved that the Aucklann Onion be written to and be invited to extend the tour of their representatives to Greymouth, this Union gluaranfceeiog £60 for a Wednesday match and' £75 for a Saturday match. The appointing of a selection cummittee was deferred till Tuesday next when it is expected that all members of the -executive will be present. Mr Wilson was appointed referee for the United-Star senior match ">n the Park next Saturday at 3 p.m. The usual vote to the chair terminated the meeting.
