THE OPENING CEREMONY
THE TURNING OF FIRST SOD.

NAPIER, Jan. la. If has been definitely- decided that the first sod of the Napier-Gisborne railway will be officially turned at Napier at the end of this month, piobably the 29th. The ceremony will be attended by S'r Joseph Ward and the Hon. R. McKenzic.
