(Red. 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 23. The wild trading in United States steel 1 threw Wall Street into, a ferment. There was liquidation on a larlge scale. Five points, were lost in' the first hour, but therfe was a slight recovery afterwards. The total sales are the largest since 1902. Liquidation was due to the belief that thq Steel Corporation had been forced ito dissolve as the result of the recent suit by the Department of Justice. There have tteeri a decline, in railroad stocks, as an outcome of the defeat on reciprocity.
