FAT CATTLE.
The .'entry of fat cattle totnrted only 101; or less than half of last week's supply. Tho bulk of the yarding was of fair quality, the proportion of cows being smaller than usual. "Them was", in cowsequtshce. of the short supply, a sharp rise in pnees, beef in some instances 'behig equal to fu% 40s per 1001 b. Steers made £7 10s to £1% . dxtra to £15 10s, heiferis to £11, extra to £12 ss, cows .£5 17s 6d to £8 ss, and extra to £12 15s. A small yarding of veal calves sold well, prices (ranging from 4s 6d to' sßs. STORE CATTLE. A small yarding 1 -of 'store cattle included somo useful lots, of two-year-olds, and for these arid any other lots in good condition there was a fairly brisk demand. Fifteen and ftigh teen-months, sorts, were passed at 49s two-year steers passed at £<i 7s 6d. two-year heifers £3 15s, and dry cows ' 30s to £3 7s 6d.
