Mr Deii/S manager of the South Eastern Railway Company, in giving evidence before 1 the^Obnciliation Ccmmissiion, testified that Obnciliation would be accepted' on the understanding that both sides agreed thereto, im lieu of the recagnirtion of unions. Nolegislation could prevent striking and no legislation should be- introduced placing railway-men at a disadvantage compared with other workers..
