(Red 5.0 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 21. The s.s. Olympic, i n passing- Cowc\s for Cherbourg to New York", with •three thousand om board, 732 firstclass passengers, including a dozen mi.llkm'aircs .the cruiser Hawko overtook her in the dr.izzling rain and r.tr.amed alongside. She slowed down to pass the Olympic astern. Apparently through draw or suction she crashed into the Olympic's starboard side.
There was no panic. • The collision doors were, promptly closed.
The cruiser returned to PorL'smouth, heir fore compartment being filled.
The Olympic returned showly to Southampton.
Her plates wea - e badly bucMcd leading to a huge gap, besides giving her a distinct list.
