(By Telegraph—Per Press AssociatW'n) CHRISTOHTJRCHi -May 12. ,Mr Bishop, S.M., to-day declared void the poll recently . taken in JFendalton Riding, Waimarie County, on the. question of forming a borough. • The proposal was declared carried toy 149 votes to 139, ,but the result was objected to on the ground that the polling had ibeen- allowed. to continue till 7 p.m.. and that plural; voting,had Been permitted. •• • . - ; •• : Mr Bishop said he did not want to give. a decision on'the. matter, of , plural voting without argument"' on =. ■bpth sides, tut he was satisfied. that the returning officer had no rig|it to fceep thepoll open till seven o' clock* and on that ground •he declared, the poll void.
