In the Blue Book Healing with the' Egyptian, conditions, Sir E. iGorst declares that as faT as the Legislative Council and general Assembly are conerned the experiment of admitting Egyptians to a larger share in the Administration has proved a failure. Both bodies during the first half of 1910 displayed a steady and increasing tendency to ibecome mere instruments of the Nationalist agitation against the occupation of Egyptians. Since November] the Council has been less impracticable and some valuable measures have ibeen passed. The failure to experiment in the direction of . self-government is attributable to the -Egyptians, the local and European ■; colonies interpreting the concessions as .a weakness and lessening British authc-ritv.
