WHat threatens to develop into a serious case Occurred near Lochiel on Saturday, says the Invercargill correspondent of the Dunedin "Stil" respondent of the Dunedin "Star," when Ranger Friend, of the Southland Acclimitisation Society, tried to sieze the ba# of a "shootist" in the possession of ducks shot out of season. It is alleged that the ranger called upon the resident, charging him with Raving shot them out of season. The request was declined, and the ranger endeavoured to sieze the bag, bW the owner of the bag, it is said, used the barrel of his gun with effect. A utssle ensued, and the ranger received'assistance, upon calling for same. The ranger, who siezed the 'gun, Ivas rut aoout the hands, and complained of a Mow on the body.
