LIQUOR FOR MAORIES.
(By Telegraph — Per Press Association) ■ROTORUA, May 9. 1 Timothy Buchanan, a barman employed at the Lake Hotel ' at Taupo, \vas to-day fined ;£3O and costs £10 Q, 7d for supplying a Maori with liquor for consumption on the premises. ' The Magistrate said he had talien into consderation, this being the first conviction in Taupo under the new Act, and that nothing was iknown against defendant, who, however, had sworn falsely.
