EARTHQUAKE TREMOR.
SYDNEY, April 14. Two severe earth tremors were re-, risicrcd at the observatory.. The first occurred on Saturday last, .a preliminary movement commencing at 3-35 nut. and the second phase five minuses later followed by long waves at -4j Several tremors were recorded on Monday, a preliminary phase at ii/, a.m. last four minutes, the second phase then commenced, lasting .ix minutes. The largest wave had an amplitude of three milliametres. The tremors did not cease till i-SO p.m. , The. earth tremors arc believed to have originated not far distant from Australia.
