TIMARU SUPREME COURT

TIMARU, Feb 4The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court opened to-day before Judge Denniston, who said the district was to be congratulated on the comparative freedom from crime. There were three cases in all from outside Timaru. Albert Sims for attempted rape near Ashlburton was sentenced to seven years, th e Judge remarking that it was" not safe to allow such a man to mix in society. The accused was only 20 years' of age and in 10.04 he was convicted at Wellington of a some what similar.offenoe.
