VICTORIAN LICENSING BILL
MELBOURNE, June 24 The Licensing Bill, which will be inroduced in the forthcoming session of the State Parliament, contains 100 clauses. It provides a ten years limit for the * compensation section of the present act. License fees are increased for compensation purposes and when any hotels are closed in a dis-, trict the remainder are, to pay suffi"! cient fees to make up the compensation. The local" option vote is to be; taken triennially but cannot be used to reduce the statuory number during ten years. -At the expiration ofi that period there will be complete 1 local option without compensation. The bill also provides that clubs. can-^ not sell drink while hotels are closed.
