TELEPHONE COMMUNICA TION
In regard to the necessity for better telephone communication between" Greymouth and the residents along the Jackson's' railway,' Mr William Morris r yesterday r.eqeived the following telegram" from the Pre mier: — "Have received the following telegram from Sir Joseph Ward, respect, ing telephone business, and I have wired him again, and he has agreed to go into the matter fully himself and as I have told him that the extra wire put. up would be useless expenditure unless the public had the advantage of communicatfon. I feel satjsfiec| !V n6w ''that th6 v ' matter will be ■'■''rectified: "Re deputation that has waited upon you regarding the inadequate telephone service, I shall look into the matter It is impossible, however, in giving telephone facilities unless by providing a number of wires to enable different people to get the use of the wire within the same, hours" ''without waiting- a considerable f time.
