?PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) INVERCARGILL, April, 17. Tho Judgment (Justice Denniston) in the appeal, Police -V. Whittingham, Gor o brewers, was delivered to-day. The police proceeded against Whittingham for sending beer out of Mataura, a no-lioense district, into the Cluttoa, also a no-lioense district in pursuance of a written ordor from a customer. For the police, it was contended that the delivery of the goods took at the Gore station, and "was'~th.erefore in contravention of law. His honor in a lengthy judgment held otherwise, and that the beer was not the (property of the consignee till it reached its destination. In another appeal His Honor held that Whittingliam could not appropriate the beer brewed by him, and ordered through an office he had established at Mandeville in a licensed' district. He said beer b•ing returned to the purchaser within the no-licensed district of Mataura that his license did not cover such transactions.
