DRAUGHTS CHAMPIONSHIP.
» , : (per press association.) . Wanganui, April 4. The New Zealand Draughts Chamionship was resumed. Hillikerb beat Lucas, 3 draws, Hillikerb is now playing Porobie, 2 draws each. The winner plays Gardner for the championship. J Pooreham won tbe junior champiqp ship. When the play ceased Ao night for New Zealand Draught ChampionsMp Gardener and Hilliker were play-ing the final. Three games were placed, Gardener winning one, with two dr&rrs. Hilliker's chance was almost hopeless, as he has to win the remaining game and then beat Gardener twice to secure the championship. The weather, which has been fine for the holidays, is now broken, heavy rain having set in.
