Mrs Humphreys, who led an unhappy life owing to the dru'ken habits and ill usage of her husband, wko last Ditjht, under the influence of drink, threatened to shoot his vrifc. She fled to a n igh or's, but returned in the morning. The quarrel wad resumed on the verandah. Jbuddenly Humphries fired t*» sh ts at his wise, both shots taking effeot. He then suicided. Humphries was an exGuardsman ttudjlived sometime in New Zealand.
