There was ureat interest in tho In'eroational Championship* The attendance whs 25,000. The match between Gudgeon and Walker, to decide who was io meet Maj r Taylor, resulted in a win for Gudgeon, who, making a phenomeuually fast finish, beat Walker by a leng h and a hOf in 2 3 2-5, Gudgeon then tickled Taylor. In the fi*st eve>.t, a mile paced, Taylor won by three le> gths in 2 2. In the second event, a mile unpaced, Taylor won by a similar distance in 3 12. The winne<- held Gn 'gem easily and displayed magnificent form. Hi received an ovation. Taylor also won tho Taylor Plate, Walie second, W«.lker third. Oalnaera ran second to Taylor in the qualifying heat,
