Ladies & Gentlemen,— Elsewhere in our estimates we have referred to our New Season's Shipments, which among other lines include 5 miles 56 chains of Calicoes 6 miles 30 chains of Prints, Muslins & Zephyrs 7 miles 40 chains of Eibbons, and 14 miles 27 chains of Lace & Embroide i y We have now to consider. Woollen Dress Groods In these lines our latest importations amount to 3 miles 19 Chains. In addition to this our usual Standard Stock contains 4 miles of Cashmeres Merinos, Poplins, Voiles, Lustres, Repps, and Serges, making a total of 7 miles 2O chains of Dress Stuffs We have Dress Materials in Grand Variety and ample quantity for Several Complete Costumes for the new Town Hall and Corporation Gas Works, with surplus sufficient to Clothe the ideas of some of our City Fathers. Silk Braids This is a special line of Dress Trimmings, Our first sample of 1491 yards is just to hand, and shipments follow. Our stock of this material is about sufficient to decorate the Zigzag to the Reservoir. In this line we have no surplusHead Wear In Stock we have 1,283 Hats to choose from, and hard to fit will be the head, that we can't crown with advantage and pleasure to its owner. We can decorate and beautily any head, from the head of a Government to a Government head of water. We stock hats in quantity about sufficient to §11 the cutting in Easson's Hill and each hat is a thing of beauty, and a dream of joy. If there is a Surplus we will put it on the top of the new Flagstaff at the Tip. Moor Coverings, Of Linoleums, Carpets etc ; our new stock of choice patterns equals 29,573 square feet or over 5 £ Miles in length. These are our new importations only and do not take into account stock- in hand on the Ist of the month. We can pave a pathway from Greymouth to Dobson Coal Bore with a Surplus sufficient to pave the Greymouth Wharf. N. B. Up to the present we have only commenced the journey through our Stock. We have miles to follow that will take us many time round the world, but the journey will be a pleasant one as we will have with us the whole population of Westland. PUBLIC CHALIdBNGE Our miles and chainages of importations as above are correct, <*s are all our statements. To whom it may concern, we are ready and willing to show our stock and produce our invoice book for inspeccioix and checking, and will forfeit £500 sterling to the funds .of the Grey Biver Hospital if our Statements can be shown to be ' untrue.
