Nuisance Act Amendment Bill passed their final stages. In Committee on the Shops and Shop Assistants Act Amendment Bill a new clause was inserted providing that all chemist shops may be opened for the supply of medicine or surgical appliances only between 7 and 9 on the evening of the day appointed for the weekly .half-holiday, and any chemist may, on the afternoon of the half-holiday, supply any medicine or surgical appliances which are urgently required. The Bill was put through its final stages. Mr G W Russell's Eight Hours Bill was killed in Committee by 21 to 18. Mr Fowld's Cycle Boards Bill was further considered in Committee, but very little progress was made. The motion to report progress on Mr Fowld's Cycle Boards Bill was carried by 16 to 15.
