Nelson, April 25. At the quarterly meeting of the Chamber of Commerce to-day it was resolved to communicate with the Post-master-General advocating the establishment of a fortnightly 'Frisco service, with j Wellington as a port; of call ; also to urge that better arrangements be made' for connecting intercolonial steamers with the Suez mail boats ; further, that Government be urged to take steps to thro vy open" the lands reserved under the Midland Railway contract and provide for' the deviation by way of Tadmor. Some other matters were discussed fully.
