A BARRACKS FOR CAPETOWN.
[per press association.] [by electric tel*egraph— copyright.] (Received April 26th, at 12 10 a m) London, April 25. In committee of Supply in the House of Commons Mr Chamberlain defended the item for the erection of a barracks at Capetown, saying that it was necessary that Britain should be ready to meet all possible attacks. The Transvaal Government had enormously increased their forces, and it was therefore necessary to increase the British garrison. The policy was identical with that pursued in regard to the navy. .
