Mails for U S A, Vancouver, Hawaiian Islands, Japan and Philippines, United Kingdom, Continent via Sydney, close at Wellington on Saturday, 22nd. Mails for United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, USA, Canada via San Francisco, close here on Tuesday, 9th May, at 9 am. Registered letters at 5 p'm; money orders at 4 p m on Sth May. Mails for Capetown close at Melbourne, per Australasian, on 10th prox. For Christchurch, Dunedin and Australian Colonies, per overland to Christ- . church on Tuesday and Fridays at 9 a m. A late fee posting box is now attached to the guard's van, Jackson and Hokitika train. Letters must bear the extra Id lato fee. A similar box will shortly be placed on the Reefton train.
