At the close of the meeting a vote of thanks to Carnell and expressing- confidence In tbe Government was passed. The libel action by the Herald against the Telegraph is being withdrawn on the Uttarretracting the statements complained of and expressing regret. Gipßy Grand has gone wrong, and has been scratched for all engagements at the Jockey Club's meeting. Auckland, March 17. Two men, Henry Albert Austin and Henry Maunsey, were arrested on the I arrival of the Rotorua train on a charge of being concerned In the recent Rotorua post-office robbery. The arrest was effected on the strength of a telegram J B Graham, solicitor, states that it is a flagrant Instance of mistaken Identity. He travelled with them from Samoa and one used to be part proprietor of a Sydmy newspaper. Ample bail was offered, but the police detain them pending Information from Rotorua. Wellington, March 16.
