At to-nfght's meeting of the Trades and Labor Council a communication was received from the kindred body of New South Wales with regard to introducing black labor into Queensland. The Council discussed the matter at some length, and passed the following resolution :— •♦ Thlß Counoll learns with (surprise and regret that it is the intention of the Queensland Government to introduce black labor, and joins with the New South Wales Trades and Labor Counoil in strongly protesting against such action on the part of the Queensland Government." A meeting of the shareholders and creditors of the Mokau Coal Company was held to-nighb. The proceedings were of a particularly lively charcter. Some of the shareholders referred in very strong terms to the way in which the concern had been mismanaged. Mr Hill, auditor of the Company, stated that no board meetings were ever held and he had never had a proper set of books put before him. At the l*st meeting he had given the defiolt as L 568, but since that other accounts had come In and increased the amount.
