CURIOUS ELOPEMENT.

Two young Spaniards arrived in Paris packed in a deal box, which came from Barcelona. The packing case was booked as the personal luggage of an individual who, when the train reached the Paris terminus, told the porters he would return for his luggage later in the day, but begged them to be careful how they handled it, as the box contained costly and brittle goods. He had scarcely left the station when the man occupied with luggage heard cries issuing from the packing case. They opened it at once, when a rather handsome and young Spanish ■woman about twenty years of age, and an undersized, ugly half-caste, jumped nimbly out of it on to the platform. They were of course taken to the office of the Police Commissary, who equally, of course, could not understand a word they said.
