The statement published by the Daily News that the Imperial Government's apprehensions of war between France and Germany being imminent is generally discredited. (Received January 26, at 1 15 am) AN OFFICIAL CONTRADICTION. January 25. It is officially announced that the statement published by the Daily Neivs that the Imperial Government feared war between France and Germany was imminent, was published without the permission of the Government, and is without fonndation.
